On the disk is three programs from Cybernetic Software. C.A.R.S., the
Complete Automobile Reporting System, JDIR, a DOS DIR command replacement,
and PRINTIT, an ASCII file formatter and printer.
Each file is supplied in four different archive formats, ZIP, ARC, LZH,
and a self-extracting COM file. If you are familiar with PKUNZIP, PKXARC
of LHARC, feel free to expand the file as you normally would.
If you are not familiar with these file formats, follow these simple steps:
1. From the C:\> prompt, enter the command MD CARS. This
will create the directory for the CARS program.
2. Enter the command CD CARS. This will place you into
the newly created directory.
3. Enter the command A:CARS22. Thios will cause the
self-extracting program to place C.A.R.S. into the
new directory. (If the diskette is in the B: drive,
then make the appropriate change.)
4. You can extract the JDIR and PRINTIT programs the same
way, but you will probably want to place them in a
directory that is in your PATH.
To start the CARS program, just type in CARS (and press enter). A user's
guide is one of the files that will appear during the extraction, but
you should find the program very intuitive.
Enjoy!
